Rise Art: Inside The Home of The New Victorian Ruralist...

Rise Art recently selected The New Victorian Ruralist to highlight in their 'Inside The Home' feature that showcases the favorite room in their favorite bloggers' homes.  Here is a sneak peek from the feature that will go live on the Rise Art website later this week.

"We're building an online platform that makes discovering new art easy and fun. All of the artwork for sale on Rise Art has been hand picked by the Rise Art team and advisers. We work with top graduate degree programs, galleries and museums to provide our members with access to an incredible array of artwork across price points."

Styling for Kentucky Monthly magazine...

Here are a few outtakes I snapped with my iPhone while styling a November feature for Kentucky Monthly magazine at The Barn at Cedar Grove.  Yes -- I even had the opportunity to style the food for chef Jeremy Ashby of Azure.  So much fun!  Thank you to Jeremy, Abby Laub, Amy Mitchum -- and all who participated to create a lovely Fall spread.  A special thank you goes to Dave Campbell for arranging all the beautiful flowers.  Check out the feature beginning on page 20 of the magazine.

Fall inspirations...

I posted some great holiday and winter photos a few days ago to inspire me while transforming the shop for the holiday season.  It was certainly not my intention to overlook my favorite time of year and holiday -- so here are a few photos I've collected on Pinterest that speak to me of Fall and Thanksgiving.  Once again, the references might not always be direct -- but still, I relate to the images on a personal level and enjoy the mood they induce.  The color ochre, soft candlelight, comfort food, flannel shirts, and gatherings with friends -- they all bring the season to life for me.  Enjoy.
