Hadley's Colonial Ruralism...

I.
Oh Albert — let me count the ways you thrill me.
The color of that door, that eagle, those canes;
where to begin?
II.
The seat and front of this chair enjoy new upholstery—
while the back retains its 40-year-old print.
III.
The eagle lands again, watching over
a fresh screened porch.
IV.
I love the seats on those chairs — so very
Grey Gardens. The glass-topped table
has been planted with moss. Does anyone
else feel a weekend project coming on?
V.
An antique American Bed and a Regency bench
make a very lovely couple.
VI.
Albert Hadley decorated this client's last home
more than 40 year's ago. Working together again
on this home, they opted to keep the chintz fabric
on this settee that Mr. Hadley chose for it decades
ago. The painted floor keeps things feeling
current and fresh. For more of this 1820's
New Jersey home, visit House Beautiful.

  1. All these images are stunning! Although it's not really my style I must admit that these rooms are really elegant and classy. I'm going to check the other pics on House Beautiful.

I wish you a happy weekend, Zaira
