Yes, it was! My grandparents fell in love through letter writing.... and I just had an experience (long distance) through correspondence myself and was thinking of then with actual writing on paper and now with technology and am in the middle of writing a post about it for the next week or so. This is inspiring me to do it soon!
BTW: I think I will be down in Kentucky the first week of December, would love to come by your shop!! planning a little road trip now. xx callie
Oh the wax seals are so lovely! When we bought our house, we received all the original deeds from the solicitor and many of the earliest ones (dating back to 1906) still have the seals stuck to them. So fabulous. x
Yes, these are lovely. But true correspondence needn't be a thing of the past. Write a letter to someone today. And then put it in an envelope with a pretty stamp and address it in your finest penmanship. It will make someone happy. And, the US Postal Service needs our support!
Tuesday - Saturday, 11 - 5 (call if you'd like for us to stay later)
Closed Sunday and Monday
"James Snowden is an interior decorator, shopkeeper and, as he styles himself, 'blog curator’ based in Kentucky... He’s a blogger of few words but many beautiful pictures of things that have caught his eye - furniture and curios that are gently distressed, and interiors of an almost ethereal stillness. It is all seductively soulful and makes you want to hop on a plane to visit his shop with a fistful of dollars." -- Gareth Wyn Davies, The Telegraph
