Nothing speaks of coziness and comfort quite like ticking. There's just a certain homespun aesthetic about a billowy feather-filled pillow wrapped in row after row of worn stripes.
When I married the first time back in 1984, We had only one new piece of furniture - a leather chesterfield sofa. Everything else I slipcovered in various patterns of ticking. I even made pillow cases out of tea towels with stripes on them. Gosh - I could have gone to town with those darn flour sacks you see everywhere now! My shelves where filled with green depression glass and silver tea and coffee servers. Sheesh.
i love ticking, it works with almost everything and it never goes out of style.
