Well, here is a little peek into our bedroom. An ebonized
Mandarin sofa sits at the foot of our iron bed. A pair
of reclaimed wood cocktail tables hold whatever we're
reading at the moment. Beneath it all,
a houndstooth-patterned sisal rug sits on
Saddle Leather painted floors. The bedding is
Belgian Linen from Restoration Hardware, and
the Ikat window panels are from West Elm. The bedside
tables were once a farmhouse breakfast table.
We simply just cut in half to create the two tables.

unexpected details like the vintage boat anchor resting
on the reclaimed wood table. On the mantle we have
displayed a collection of vintage shoe forms — and antique
ship blueprints hang over the linen tufted sofa.
The wooden balustrade lamps are from Arteriors.
The wall color in both spaces is Raccoon Hollow
by Benjamin Moore.
Beautiful living space...and I love that wall color!
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing space and lot's of room to wander and be. The color scheme is so relaxing and soft........
ReplyDeletevery nice.

Love your fireplace, James.
ReplyDeleteThanks everybody. @Will — there are five fireplaces thoughout the house, and I do love dressing a mantle.
ReplyDelete~Sigh, 5 fireplaces????
ReplyDeleteI love the Saddle Leather for the floors.
Can you comment on the way they were done?
@Rose — the floors were double-primed and then 3 coats of semi-gloss paint were applied with a double-coat of a gloss epoxy sealer finish on top. Saddle Leather refers to the paint color.
ReplyDeleteCath and I love the tables... Oh if we only had another room to decorate....
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous James. I love everything. Can you come decorate for me? Lovely things - you have such a great eye and I love the colour scheme. The architectural details of your rooms really set a gorgeous foundation for your perfect taste!!

Oh, I meant to say that your bedside lamps look so interesting. Would love to see a close up. Let me know if you want to sell them!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCheers, Terri
@Terri — Sorry to report the lamps are not for sale. The company that created the lamp has discontinued the design. Thanks for all the wonderful compliments. They are certainly appreciated.
ReplyDeleteIs your bedroom the front left room facing the street? Looks a lot different than when it was my bedroom! You've done an amazing job!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, that would be my bedroom. And yes, 6 fireplaces — not sure why I said 5. Thanks so much for the checking out the blog.
ReplyDeleteI had silver mylar wallpaper - definitely looks better now! I can't wait to see it in person someday.
ReplyDeleteThe Raccoon Hollow looks wonderful...love that you split a table in two for the nightstands, how creative is that!?! Your marble fireplaces are beautiful and where did you get your sofa...it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your home,
xo J~
@24 Corners — The sofa is by Arhaus. Thanks for the wonderful comments.
