Metallic Grasscloth Wallpaper...

The combination of raw, weathered wood and the sheen from the metallic grasscloth wallpaper
creates a very orginal backdrop for a few lovely desk accessories.  Oh how I enjoy seeing
something new and refreshing!

Living with it...

I adore this 1920's house recently featured in Skona Hem.  What some would view as decay, the
homeowners have left alone to create a beautiful backdrop of patina and texture.

Framing Alternatives at Finderskeepers Market...

The burlap upholstery on the back of this dining chair resembled a memo board -- so I decided to
make it one by adding a vintage bird print. The rest of the chair is upholstered in flax-colored linen. An antique clock box becomes a handsome shadowbox frame.Cloches are a great way to display mementos. Here, an iron wire cloche sits on a
vintage pie pan to showcase a vintage photograph of a young boy.Zinc easels hold vintage postcards, letters, recipes and photos. I love the barn raising images and the two football poses.A series of found boating photographs are supported by antique floral frogs. An antique book with a handmade dust jacket showcases a pair of vintage scissors and a beautiful autograph.Traditional frames punctuate the shelf of a French bookcase.Another vintage portrait floats via a telescoping photo stand.

Lamp and Candle Light at Finderskeepers Market...

This driftwood candelabra is one of my current favorites in the shop. The way each cut of driftwood connects to the next makes the arms look articulated. This piece is truly stunning in person. Make sure you click on the image for the larger version that shows all the beautiful details. These cork candles burn for 2.5 hours and fit perfectly into the mouth of a wine bottle.Another dramatic candelabra includes this iron branch votive holder. It is a great stand alone piece and supplies just enough moody light for a dinner with friends. These antique brass spider lamps make great, quirky night-lights in a childs room. I also love the vintage flair they add to a well-appointed desk top.On the outside, these burnished metal pendant lights look like they could be a re-purposing project; the patina is that skilled. On the inside, the finish has been chiseled to expose a wonderful, almost mercury-like shine that bounces and reflects the light perfectly.
